The Framework

One coherent architecture from letter to cosmos

This page is the map, not the territory: six numbers, six layers, and the , each card linking to the page where that part of the system actually lives. Skim the surface freely — the drawers hold the story of how the layers stack and where the numbers come from.

The Hypercube of Life: the Tree of Life drawn inside a 4D tesseract, ringed by the 231 Gates, with the seven alchemical stages of 33 gates each below it
The whole argument, in one image. The ten Sefirot sit at the vertices of a four-dimensional cube, joined by the twenty-two lettered paths and ringed by all 231 Gates — the “Rosetta Stone Matrix.” Below, the Great Work descends in seven coloured bands, and the plate labels each one 33 gates: seven stages × 33 = 231, so the alchemy and the gate-count are one thing seen two ways. At the foot, past and future fold into the present under the two Hermetic axioms.

The Number Spine

Six numbers from a longer sequence: the corpus derives the full step by step from a seed of 3, and these six are the ones this site is organized around. Other pages quote other slices of the same sequence — the Cosmogram leads with four of these, the Tools page with seven nodes.

Three of those six numbers are just arithmetic on the other three

The six cards read like six separate claims. They are not. Two of them are counted out of the first one, and the corpus states both identities in its own words — the plate at the top of this page prints the second one across seven bands.

231 = 22 × 21 ÷ 2
Pair every letter with every other letter

Take 22 letters. Each can pair with the other 21. That counts every pair twice — Aleph-with-Bet and Bet-with-Aleph are the same gate — so halve it. 231. This is not mysticism, it is counting, and it is the one number on the spine you can check on paper in ten seconds.

all 231, listed one by one →
231 = 7 × 33
The same gates, sorted by stage instead of by pair

The plate above cuts the 231 into the seven stages of the Great Work — Nigredo, Albedo, Citrinitas, Rubedo, Sapphire, Solution, Coagulation — and gives each stage exactly 33. Same gates, regrouped. It is why the alchemy and the gate-count are one structure and not two.

the stages, rung by rung →
256 = 231 + 22 + 3
Where the 256 States come from

The 231 gates, plus the 22 letters standing alone, plus three more — and 4⁴ = 256 lands exactly there. That identity is the author's own, stated in the corpus alongside 231 = C(22,2); it is the reason the circuit table can run gates 1–231 and then keep counting into 'States 232–256' in the same column without changing subject.

the 256 states, indexed →

What does not reduce: 10 and 72 come from outside this system entirely (see the drawer below), and 24 is the author’s own layer with no classical ancestor. Two inherited, one invented, three derived — that is the honest shape of the spine.

How do the six layers stack?

The system builds from the smallest unit — a single letter — to the largest cycle, the ages. Read these six in order and you have the whole argument of the site in miniature.

1 · The Letters

Creation begins with 22 living forces. Each Hebrew letter is not a symbol but an operator — a verb of the cosmos with an element, a force, and a role.

2 · The Gates

Pair any two letters and you open a gate. All pairings give 231 — the generative possibility-space, the 'Rosetta Matrix' from which combinations of force arise.

3 · The Tree

The 10 Sefirot map the levels of being from Crown to Kingdom, connected by the 22 lettered paths. Structure and flow in one diagram.

4 · The Angels

The 72 Names divide the zodiac into 5° governors — each an intelligence with an element, choir, ritual, and shadow.

5 · The Circuits

Nine developmental circuits run Body → Crown, binding sephirah, planet, alchemy, chakra, and life-arc into one spine of becoming.

6 · The Ages & Cosmos

The whole system breathes across the Great Year — twelve precessional ages descending and ascending through the cosmic cycle.

The Nine Circuits

Where do these numbers actually come from?

Four of the six numbers on the spine are far older than this site. The and the both come from the — the “Book of Formation,” a very short Hebrew text whose written form scholars usually place somewhere between the 2nd and 7th centuries CE, making it one of the oldest surviving works of Jewish mysticism. It describes creation as an act of combination: the letters are sorted into , and , set on a wheel, and paired two at a time — and pairing 22 things every possible way gives exactly 231. That part is not mysticism at all; it is counting. Different manuscript versions of the text even disagree on the figure — some read 231, others 221 — a reminder that the tradition was argued over from the start.

The ten appear in the very same text — its opening counts ten together with the twenty-two letters to make thirty-two paths of wisdom — but the familiar diagram that arranges them took another thousand years or more, reaching roughly its modern shape in the of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The come from a different stream entirely: three consecutive verses in Exodus (14:19–21), each exactly 72 Hebrew letters long, which medieval Kabbalists combined in a fixed pattern — one letter from each verse, the middle verse read in reverse — to derive 72 three-letter names, the Shem HaMephorash. Later tradition gave each name an angel and a 5° slice of the zodiac, which is why 72 × 5° closes the 360° circle.

The habit of binding all of this together — letters to planets, angels to degrees, paths to tarot cards — is the old doctrine of correspondences: the idea that reality is written in one alphabet at many scales, so a planet, a metal, a day of the week and a letter can all be spellings of the same force. Renaissance compilers such as Agrippa built enormous tables of these matches, and the nineteenth-century standardized many of the pairings modern readers inherit without knowing where they came from. The framework on this page stands squarely in that lineage.

The last two spine numbers are the exception, and honesty requires saying so: the 24 operators and the 256 states appear nowhere in the classical sources. They are this system's own architecture, built by the author on top of the inherited material. That split is worth keeping in view across the whole site — 22, 231, 10 and 72 come from tradition (with plenty of variation in how tradition used them), and everything that binds the six into one structure is synthesis, which the corpus tries to label as such.

This framework — , presented in the book — is a symbolic / archetypal discipline: a language for pattern and meaning, not a claim of physical or medical fact. Resonance is not identity; analogy is not proof. remains the working abbreviation for the system and still appears across this site alongside the full name.
