The Shem HaMephorash — the “Explicit Name” — is derived from three verses of Exodus 14 (verses 19, 20 and 21), each seventy-two letters long. Read boustrophedon (alternating direction), they yield 72 three-letter names — three of the roots serve two angels each, so 69 are distinct. Each takes the suffix -IAH or -EL, governs a 5° segment of the zodiac, and carries its own psalm, tarot decan, sephirah, element, choir and archangel.

In plain words: the zodiac is a circle of 360 degrees. Cut it into slices of five and you get 72 — one per angel, each a . So at any moment the Sun is standing inside exactly one angel’s slice, and the one it stood in when you were born is your . “Boustrophedon” just means read the way an ox ploughs — one line left to right, the next right to left.

Shem HaMephorash
— Hebrew for 'the explicit Name' — the 72 three-letter names drawn out of three verses of Exodus, each read as an angel.
Quinance
— a five-degree slice of the zodiac. 360 ÷ 5 = 72, so each angel owns exactly one.
Dates
— the days each year when the Sun crosses that slice. Born inside a window? That angel is your guardian.
-IAH / -EL
— the two endings every name takes — both are names of God, so each angel's name means 'a quality, of God'.
Attribute
— the gift or quality the angel carries — what it is traditionally called on for.
Shadow
— the same quality when it is overdone or turned inward; the thing to watch on that angel's days.
Choir
— its rank among the nine orders of angels. Eight angels to a choir, each choir led by one archangel and seated on one sephirah.
Sephirah
— one of the ten stations on the Tree of Life — the map of how pure potential becomes the physical world.
Decan
— a ten-degree slice of the zodiac, shared by two neighbouring angels. Each decan has a numbered tarot card and a ruling planet, its 'lord'.
Tarot
— the numbered card of its decan — so two angels in a row share one card.
Psalm
— the verse traditionally recited to call on this angel.
Stone · Incense · Colour · Day · Moon phase
— the traditional aids for working with it — what to hold, burn, wear, and when.
Frequency
— a tone in hertz paired with its sephirah, used as a meditation aid — a tradition, not a measurement.
Shem HaMephorash — the three verses of Exodus 14, the 72 three-letter names, and the 72 angels drawn around the zodiac wheel
The author’s plate: the three verses, the 216 letters cut into 72 names, and the 72 set around the wheel — 72 × 5° = 360°.

Which of the two angel tables is this?

This site carries two hand-written tables of the same 72 angels, inherited from two different sources, and they do not perfectly agree. It is worth knowing which one you are reading.

This page shows the richer table — the one with twenty-two fields per angel, the psalms, stones, incenses, shadows and colours. It is also what Your Chart, the Clock Stack and the Three Angels reader use. The other, shorter table drives the headline card on the Daily Angel Gate.

They part company in two places. Four date boundaries sit one day apart (#18 Caliel, #19 Leuviah, #20 Pahaliah and #68 Habuhiah), so on a handful of days each year the two pages will name different guardians for the same date. Four names are spelled differently — Nithaiah / Nith-Haiah (#25), Yerathel / Yeratel (#27), Chavaquiah / Chavakiah (#35), Iahhel / Iah-Hel (#62) — so a search that works on one page can come up empty on the other. Neither table is silently corrected to match the other; the disagreement is inherited from the printed tradition, where different books genuinely draw the five-day boundaries a day or two apart.

Find one: search by name or by the quality you need, or narrow by element and sign. Born 21 March to 20 April? Your guardian is one of the six in Aries. The search reads nine things — name, sign, attribute, choir, sephirah, tarot card, archangel, byname and the long description. It does not read the dates, degrees, psalm, stone, incense, colour, weekday or moon phase, so narrow those with the buttons instead. The four element counts are of all 72 and never move.

The angels are one cut of the 360° circle. The same circle, cut other ways, gives the letters, the tarot decans and the signs — which is why every record above names all of them.
