The State of the Magnum Opus — four archives drawn as glowing portals around a central torus, marked Consolidation Pending, with a project timeline beneath
Why there is anything to rule on. The author’s own status-map of the corpus, and the two words at its centre are the whole reason this page exists: consolidation pending. Four archives — the SGTE Portal, the Daily Angel Engine, Master V3, the Peony Vault — grew in parallel over five years, and work done in one of them could not see the others. That is how a project ends up with five element tables for twenty-two letters. The rulings below are the consolidation, done one contradiction at a time. (The plate is shown as the author drew it, typo in the title and stale sync warning included — it is a snapshot of a moment, not a live dashboard.)
How contradictions are handled
Do real traditions contradict themselves too?

Constantly — and the traditions this system draws on are honest examples. The , the root text behind the letter classes and the gate count, survives in several different versions: a short one, a long one, and the one the tenth-century scholar Saadia Gaon wrote his commentary on. The versions disagree over details as basic as which letter belongs to which planet, and for a thousand years copyists and commentators simply passed on the reading they trusted. There has never been one single agreed text — only families of readings.

The layers built on top carry the same kind of splits. In the 1850s the French occultist keyed the to the 22 tarot starting with Aleph on The Magician; in England later shifted the whole alphabet one step so Aleph landed on The Fool. Both keys are still taught today, and neither school ever "won". Astrology holds an older split still: the starts counting at the spring equinox while the sidereal zodiac keys to the fixed stars, and after two thousand years of the two have drifted roughly twenty-four degrees apart — yet both remain living, working systems with millions of practitioners each.

What separates a healthy tradition from a muddled one is not the absence of contradiction but how the contradiction is handled. Rabbinic literature gives the classic answer: when the early schools disagreed, a ruling was made — but the Mishnah says plainly that the minority opinion is written down on purpose, so that a later generation can still see it, weigh it, and understand why the ruling went the way it did. The losing view is preserved beside the winning one, with its reasoning intact, rather than erased.

That is the method this page borrows. Each ruling here is the author's decision, made for the structural reasons stated on its card — it is a choice among readings, not a claim that the other readings are false. The alternates stay visible as labelled lenses because a named divergence can teach; only a silent one misleads.

🜁The 22-letter element tablethe site follows this
What the contradiction was

Five different element assignments existed — the Master Table, a zodiac-forward CSV, a planet-forward CSV, the TribridDoc skeleton, and System A. They disagree on roughly 86% of the letters, which breaks gate elemental pairs, breath phases, polarity, frequency bands, sephirotic flows, the Gate Codex, the Rosetta Stone and the Temporal Engine all at once.

The ruling

The author's audited Master Table.

  • · It is internally consistent.
  • · It matches Golden Dawn path geometry.
  • · It aligns with the Gate Codex operator logic.
  • · It is the only version capable of generating all 231 gates without contradictions.
Canonical view, with the alternates preserved
Canonical — The audited canon — internally consistent and the only assignment that generates all 231 gates cleanly.
★ marks the canonical view. Nothing here is hidden — alternates are kept and labelled, never deleted.
Where the site stands: Corrected 1 August 2026. The site had been running an assignment that matched the Master Table on only 13 of 22 letters; nine letters were rewritten to canon (Gimel→Water, Heh→Fire, Vav→Air, Zayin→Fire, Chet→Water, Tet→Earth, Samekh→Fire, Tzaddi→Air, Qof→Water). Verified 22/22 against three independent copies of the Master Table, which agree with each other completely. The three Mothers still read Aleph=Air, Mem=Water, Shin=Fire, and the gate class partition is unaffected because letter classes are independent of elements.
🜂231-gate enumeration (reaffirmed 21 Aug 2026)the site follows this
What the contradiction was

System A (archetype-first) was missing Gimel and Tzaddi entirely, produced only 230 unique pairs, and carried off-by-one errors. System B enumerates every pair row-major.

The ruling

System B — row-major C(22,2), giving exactly 231 gates.

  • · It is mathematically correct.
  • · It is the only version compatible with Sefer Yetzirah.
  • · It is the version used in the Gate Codex (Engine A).
  • · It is the only version that produces the 84-hinge theorem.
Canonical view, with the alternates preserved
Canonical — Every unordered pair of the 22 letters, counted (1,2),(1,3)…(1,22),(2,3)… — mathematically complete at 231.
★ marks the canonical view. Nothing here is hidden — alternates are kept and labelled, never deleted.
Where the site stands: Verified in the gate engine: the enumeration loop is exactly row-major C(22,2) and the code comment already names it the canonical 231 order.
🜃Yesod frequency — 210 Hz vs 432 Hzthe site follows this
What the contradiction was

Two incompatible values were both in use for the same sephirah.

The ruling

Both — clearly labelled. They serve different functions.

  • · 432 is structural across the whole cosmology.
  • · 210 is mathematically derived and belongs to the planetary-tone ladder.
  • · They are answers to different questions, not rival answers to one.
Canonical view, with the alternates preserved
Canonical — The structural tone running through the Great Year, the Yugas, the angels and the temporal engine.
★ marks the canonical view. Nothing here is hidden — alternates are kept and labelled, never deleted.
Where the site stands: Closed 1 August 2026. The two values are now named as two ladders — the Harmonic Spine and the Planetary Tone Ladder — and the ruling is stated with its lens switcher on the Claims page, where the frequency material lives.
🜄Tarot numberingthe site follows this
What the contradiction was

Standard 0–21 versus an esoteric 22-card variant.

The ruling

Standard 0–21.

  • · It maps cleanly to 22 letters, 22 paths and 22 operators.
  • · The 22-card variant breaks the Rosetta.
Canonical view, with the alternates preserved
Canonical — The Fool at 0 through The World at 21 — one card per letter, one card per path.
★ marks the canonical view. Nothing here is hidden — alternates are kept and labelled, never deleted.
Where the site stands: Verified: the letter table carries tarot numbers 0 through 21 across exactly 22 letters.
🜅Tattva clock timingthe site follows this
What the contradiction was

A 60-second cycle, a 60-minute cycle, and a fractal nested cycle were all in circulation.

The ruling

Fractal nested.

  • · It matches the Temporal Engine.
  • · It preserves the breath → gate → month → micro-year mapping.
Canonical view, with the alternates preserved
Canonical — The same pattern repeating at every scale, so a breath and a year are the same shape at different sizes.
★ marks the canonical view. Nothing here is hidden — alternates are kept and labelled, never deleted.
Where the site stands: Closed 1 August 2026. The Cosmic Clock now carries the ruling and offers the three timings as a labelled choice, with the fractal canon marked as the default.
🜆231-gate cluster taxonomythe site follows this
What the contradiction was

Two different ways of partitioning the 231 gates: a four-world cluster (Supernal / Ethical / Astral / Material), and the Sefer Yetzirah class partition of 3 / 21 / 36 / 21 / 84 / 66.

The ruling

The Sefer Yetzirah class partition.

  • · It is mathematically invariant — it falls out of the letter classes themselves and cannot shift.
  • · It is the only partition compatible with Sefer Yetzirah.
  • · The four-world cluster depends on enumeration order, so renumbering the gates changes it.
Canonical view, with the alternates preserved
Canonical — Every gate classified by the two letter-classes it joins: Mother, Double or Simple. The six sizes are forced by the counts 3, 7 and 12.
★ marks the canonical view. Nothing here is hidden — alternates are kept and labelled, never deleted.
The canonical partition, counted live from the letter table
Mother × MotherC(3,2) = 33The three primal gates — Air, Water and Fire meeting each other. The smallest and most fundamental group.
Mother × Double3 × 7 = 2121Each element meeting each planet — the elemental forces taking on cyclic, planetary character.
Mother × Simple3 × 12 = 3636Each element meeting each sign. Thirty-six — the same count as the decans.
Double × DoubleC(7,2) = 2121Planet meeting planet: the cyclic operators combined with each other.
Double × Simple7 × 12 = 8484The hinge group — every planet against every sign. This is the 84-hinge the theorem is named for, and the largest single class.
Simple × SimpleC(12,2) = 6666Sign meeting sign — the zodiacal gates, the densest region of the wheel.
Total3 + 21 + 36 + 21 + 84 + 66231Every gate accounted for exactly once.

These six numbers are not typed in — they are counted from the twenty-two letters and their classes each time this page loads. That is precisely why this partition is canonical: it cannot drift, because it is forced by the counts 3, 7 and 12.

Where the site stands: Closed 1 August 2026. The canonical partition is now computed live from the letter classes and shown on this page, and every one of the 231 gates carries its class in the Gate Reader. The four-world cluster is kept — it is a genuine discovery — but it is now labelled as a lens wherever it appears, on the Geometry and Discoveries pages. Note for the record: an earlier count of 'about 200 places using the four-world cluster' was wrong; almost all of those references were to the Four Worlds as a general cosmological idea (Atziluth, Briah, Yetzirah, Assiah), which this ruling does not touch. The gate-partition usage was a single discovery record.
🜇The meaning of 88the site follows this
What the contradiction was

88 constellations (astronomy) versus 4 × 22 (symbolic cosmology).

The ruling

Both — disambiguated by scale.

  • · They are true at different scales and neither displaces the other.
Canonical view, with the alternates preserved
Canonical — The 88 constellations the sky is actually divided into by modern convention.
★ marks the canonical view. Nothing here is hidden — alternates are kept and labelled, never deleted.
Where the site stands: Closed 1 August 2026. Checked every occurrence: the number appears meaningfully in exactly two discoveries — 22 + 66 = 88 and 88 = 4 x 22 (the symbolic reading) alongside the 88 constellations and the Gleissberg cycle (the astronomical one). The ruling and its two lenses now sit on the Discoveries page where both live. An earlier count of 75 occurrences was misleading: almost all of those were colour transparency values in the styling, not the number at all.
🜈243 versus 256 statesthe site follows this
What the contradiction was

Two different state-counts for what looked like the same space.

The ruling

Both — they are different layers.

  • · 243 counts consciousness conditions; 256 counts manifestation states. Different spaces, not rival counts of one.
Canonical view, with the alternates preserved
Canonical — 3⁵ — the five-position ternary space of conditions.
★ marks the canonical view. Nothing here is hidden — alternates are kept and labelled, never deleted.
Where the site stands: Closed 1 August 2026. The Tri-Grid page — where both counts are most used — now states the ruling and offers the two layers as labelled lenses.
🜊What 'Universal Day' meansthe site follows this
What the contradiction was

The personal app displayed a Universal Day that did not add up with the Personal Day beside it. Two different quantities were both wearing the name: the calendar day reduced on its own, and the whole date (month + day + year) reduced together. On 31 July 2026 the first gives 4 and the second gives 3.

The ruling

The Universal Day is the calendar day itself, reduced. The 1st is a 1; the 31st is a 4. Personal Day = Personal Month + the Universal Day.

  • · In the author's words: "the day that is universally — today is the first of August, universally speaking." It is universal because everyone on earth shares it.
  • · It is the term that actually feeds the Personal Day, so naming it this way makes the chain add up on screen.
  • · The Personal Day is the private counterpart: your own month plus the day everyone shares.
Canonical view, with the alternates preserved
Canonical — The 1st is a 1, the 31st is 3+1 = 4. Shared by everybody that day, and the number added to your Personal Month to give your Personal Day.
★ marks the canonical view. Nothing here is hidden — alternates are kept and labelled, never deleted.
Where the site stands: Ruled and applied 1 August 2026. The personal app now shows Universal Day → Personal Day as a visible chain with each step's arithmetic printed on it. Verified against the engine: 31 July gives Universal Day 4 with Personal Month 3 and Personal Day 7; 1 August gives Universal Day 1, Personal Month 4, Personal Day 5. The whole-date figure is retained in the code as a labelled alternate rather than deleted.
🜉The angel systemthe site follows this
What the contradiction was

Angels were being assigned by civil date in some places and by the Sun's actual position in others, which puts the two out of step near boundaries.

The ruling

Degree-based quinances — 72 angels on 5° segments, reset when the Sun reaches true 00:00 midnight.

  • · It is exact.
  • · It is astronomically grounded.
  • · It matches the Temporal Engine.
  • · It avoids civil-date errors.
Canonical view, with the alternates preserved
Canonical — The Sun's actual ecliptic longitude divided into 72 five-degree segments. 360 = 72 × 5 exactly.
★ marks the canonical view. Nothing here is hidden — alternates are kept and labelled, never deleted.
Where the site stands: Verified in the degree engine: the angel is computed as floor(longitude ÷ 5) + 1 from the Sun's real position. The additional layers exist in places and are being brought under one switcher.
🜂Which letter IS Fire — Shin or Heh?the site follows this
What the contradiction was

An earlier machine-built gate engine (2025) keyed its 'archetype 1 = Fire' to Heh, while the Sefer Yetzirah — the source the rest of the canon leans on — makes Shin the Mother of Fire. Heh is a Simple letter ruling Aries, a fire SIGN, which is how the confusion started: Heh carries fire as Aries's element, but it is not the fire Mother.

The ruling

Shin is Fire. The three Mothers are Aleph = Air, Mem = Water, Shin = Fire, exactly as the Sefer Yetzirah gives them. Heh stays Aries (a fire sign) — a Simple letter, never the Fire archetype.

  • · The Sefer Yetzirah is the canon's root text and it is unambiguous: Shin is a Mother and Shin is Fire.
  • · A Mother letter cannot be ignored in favour of a Simple one — the Simples take their elements FROM their signs; the Mothers ARE the elements.
  • · The author's ruling of 21 August 2026: 'Shin is fire in the Sefer Yetzirah, so that is what we go with — it is also a Mother letter and we cannot ignore that.'
Canonical view, with the alternates preserved
Canonical — The Mothers as the root text gives them. Heh = Aries, a fire sign, which is a different claim.
★ marks the canonical view. Nothing here is hidden — alternates are kept and labelled, never deleted.
Where the site stands: Verified 21 August 2026: the site's letter table reads Shin = Mother · Fire and Heh = Simple · Aries · Fire-by-sign; all 231 gate records pair letters by name, so no gate depends on the lattice projection.
🜁Aleph = The Fool, or Aleph = The Magician?the site follows this
What the contradiction was

Two living traditions key the 22 letters to the 22 trumps one slot apart. The Golden Dawn gives Aleph = The Fool (0) and runs the letters down the cards in order, Shin = Judgement. The Continental school after Éliphas Lévi gives Aleph = The Magician (1) and pushes The Fool to the end, Shin = The Fool. Most of this corpus uses the Golden Dawn key; the periodic-table thread used the Continental shift.

The ruling

Golden Dawn — Aleph = The Fool — is the default key everywhere on this site. The Continental (Lévi) key is a named lens, shown beside the default wherever the key matters, never switched silently.

  • · It is the key most of the corpus was written against; changing it would re-key every table at once.
  • · The author's instinct (21 August 2026) runs both ways — the Magician's airy, informative, fallible quality argues for Aleph; the Fool's unformed breath argues for Aleph too — so the honest answer is to show both, labelled, and let the difference be visible.
  • · The Tri-Brid doctrine already says a named divergence is doctrine and a silent one is an error.
Canonical view, with the alternates preserved
Canonical — Aleph, the silent breath before speech, as the unnumbered Fool at 0; the letters then run in order down the trumps. Used by this site.
★ marks the canonical view. Nothing here is hidden — alternates are kept and labelled, never deleted.
Where the site stands: The site's letter table uses the Golden Dawn key throughout (Aleph = The Fool). The Lévi key is noted on the Letters and Tarot pages as the alternate lens, per the author's 21 August 2026 ruling to 'do both / show the difference'.
🜔21 or 22 root archetypes — and the official 252the site follows this
What the contradiction was

The corpus says both '21 original archetypes + 231 gates = 252 forces' and '22 letters'. The 0–22 wheel has 23 slots. And 252 had four competing derivations — 231 + 21, 3 × 7 × 12, 12 × 21, and one that does not compute.

The ruling

Fool-as-zero. There are 22 letters and 22 trumps: 21 numbered plus one unnumbered — so '21' and '22' are both true statements about the same set, and the book says so once, in its front matter. 252 = 231 + 21 and 252 = 3 × 7 × 12 are the twin official derivations; every other derivation is retired.

  • · It keeps the arithmetic and the tradition without a fight: the Fool at 0 is a card, not a count.
  • · It complements the author's own ordering — the Fool is zero and the Magician is one.
  • · Two derivations that agree are a proof; four that disagree are a liability.
Canonical view, with the alternates preserved
Canonical — The numbered trumps run 1–21 and the Fool stands unnumbered at 0 — 22 cards, 21 numbers, both true.
★ marks the canonical view. Nothing here is hidden — alternates are kept and labelled, never deleted.
Where the site stands: Ruled 21 August 2026; carried out 22 August 2026. The one-sentence statement now sits in the book's front matter — open The Book, Part I, chapter III 'How to Read This Book', and read its closing paragraph, 'A note on counting'. The Life Spiral diagram's description, which used to say '252-gate (12×21)', now reads '231 gates + 21 root archetypes = 252 (equally 3 × 7 × 12)'. The Lattice page states the same ruling in its 'The 252 question — ruled' panel.
Still open

Two questions have no ruling yet. They are listed here rather than decided, because a contradiction with a guess on top of it is worse than a contradiction that is admitted.

Which Life Path method is canonical? — found 1 September 2026

The site computes a Life Path number two different ways, and they disagree on 11.9% of all birth dates — about one visitor in eight. The digit-sum method adds every digit of the date in one go and reduces once; it is what the free reading, the welcome page, the compatibility engine and the divination page all use. The component method reduces the month, the day and the year separately — holding 11, 22 and 33 at each step — and then adds those three; it is what the Numerology Lab and half of Your Chart use. Somebody born 9 January 1985 is told their Life Path is a 33 by the first method and a 6 by the second. Both are published, practised methods; neither is a bug on its own. Until there is a ruling, Your Chart now shows both side by side with the working, rather than printing two contradicting numbers in two panels and hoping nobody scrolls. Worth noting for whoever rules: the author’s own Master Numerology Chart plate works its example the component way.
