⚭ The Synastry
Two people read against each other — your numbers with their meanings, every aspect between your two charts explained from both sides, and the weather between you day by day. Your own details are the ones the whole site already knows; nothing here is uploaded anywhere.
A synastry is two birth charts laid over one another and read as one document — not to score a couple, but to say in words where two people meet easily, where they grind, and what today in particular is doing to the pair of them. Everything is computed in your browser from the two birth dates below. Nothing is uploaded, and the second person’s details are remembered on this device only.
What it computes
- 01Each birth date gives a Life Path, and each name an Expression and a Soul Urge. The Life Path reduces month, day and year separately then adds and reduces again; 11, 22 and 33 are held rather than flattened.
- 02The two Life Paths are compared by a fixed rule — identical, classically complementary, within two of each other, or further apart — and that rule alone produces the resonance figure. It is a symbolic heuristic with three branches, not a measurement.
- 03Both charts are cast for their date, time and UTC offset. Seven bodies are placed: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.
- 04Every one of your seven is measured against every one of theirs. Where the separation lands within six degrees of 0°, 60°, 90°, 120° or 180°, that pairing is kept as an aspect and written out from both sides.
- 05Aspects are ordered by weight — the two planets’ own importance plus the angle’s — so the contacts that shape the relationship most stand at the top rather than whatever happens to be alphabetical.
- 06For any given day, the moving sky is measured against both charts the same way, and each of you gets a personal day number from your own birth date carried into that date.
How to read it
Read the aspects, not the score. An aspect tells you which part of you meets which part of them and on what terms; the resonance percentage is only the numbers agreeing or disagreeing and settles nothing. Hard contacts are not bad news — they are where the work and most of the heat live. A relationship with no hard aspects at all is usually a comfortable one that never quite becomes anything.
What it does not claim
None of this predicts whether a relationship works. The resonance figure is a three-branch symbolic rule and not a validated instrument. The aspect readings are composed — each planet carries a fixed vocabulary and each angle a fixed frame, and the reading is the two put together, which is why the same two charts always produce the same words. The sky positions use the site’s lightweight ephemeris: good to about a degree for the Sun, looser for the Moon, and looser again if either birth time is missing. This is a structured way of talking about a relationship, which is a real use — not a measurement of one.
